We are a small rural library with large dreams, to we want to remain a truly free space for our community. A place you can come too, to be seen, heard and learn. We offer many programs of all kinds for everyone. Here's a little bit of our history.
Founded in 1908, the Genesee Library moved to the Genesee District No. 1 School in 1935, which remains its home to this day. Throughout its history, the library has shared its space with various community groups and organizations, such as the Women’s Kitchen Band, the Little Genesee Rod and Gun Club, the Little Genesee Quilters, the B.R.A.G Historical Preservation Society, and the Genesee Town Hall, especially after the 2015 fire. The Community Room serves as a venue for year-long library events, summer lunch, and reading programs. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it offered take-home activities for all ages and provided Wifi for students during remote schooling, thus reconnecting with its educational heritage.
Moving forward we want to continue to help and supporting our community members. To us it doesn't matter if you are 0 or 150 years old. Weather you need a quite space to relax or a new skill to learn. We want to help you grow. Your support is immensely valued.
