We’re more than shelves and silence (though we do love a good whisper). The Cohocton Public Library is a place where neighbors gather, ideas spark, and curiosity gets to roam free. Whether you’re here to learn something new, meet up with friends, explore the arts, or just enjoy a quiet moment—we’re here for it.

Our community room hosts everything from playdates to paint nights. Our programs invite all ages to tinker, imagine, and connect. And our resources? They’re designed to open doors—whether that’s to a museum, a state park, or a new favorite story.

We believe libraries should reflect the people they serve- welcoming, resourceful, a little quirky, and full of potential. So come as you are, stay as long as you like, and know you’re always part of the story.

We know you’ve got options when it comes to giving—and we’re honored you’ve wandered into our little corner of the internet. Welcome to Operation Shelf Esteem & Floor It Forward, our humble quest to give the Cohocton Public Library a much-needed glow-up.

Here’s the scoop: our media collection is growing (yay!), but our shelves are… not. They’re maxed out, mismatched, and frankly a little embarrassed. Meanwhile, our community room flooring is trying its best, but it’s been through a lot. It’s not dangerous—it’s just tired. Like, “I’ve seen every craft project since 2003” tired.

We’re raising funds to install new, accessible shelving and fresh carpet that actually matches the rest of the library. It’s not glamorous, but it’s transformative. Because when our space feels good, our patrons feel good—and that’s what it’s all about.
