Corning Family YMCA

At the Corning Family YMCA, we believe that everyone should have the chance to feel a part of our community, to belong, and to thrive—regardless of ability. This commitment to inclusion is at the heart of all we do, and it drives our expanding range of programs designed for people with special needs.

From activities like our welcoming bingo gatherings and lively music band meetups to sports events such as pool noodle and balloon volleyball, we make sure that everyone can find a place to join in, have fun, and feel supported.

This year, we’re also excited to introduce Sensory-Friendly Swim, held once a month on Sunday evenings after we close. This time allows individuals to enjoy the water in a calm and sensory-friendly setting. Our new Functional Fitness strength training class is another addition, specially designed to help build confidence and strength in a supportive environment.

And it’s not just about what we do in-house. Our field trips, like those to the Corning Community College digital dome, create new experiences and expand horizons, while events like our Disability Resource Fair connect families with the vital resources and networks they need. With more on the horizon, like our upcoming Winter Wonderland Dance and another Disability Resource Fair in January, we’re continually creating spaces where every person feels welcomed and valued.
