A fabulous new Children’s Room and a plan for a future Teen Space - the donors of FLXGives have generously helped us with these exciting projects in years past!

Alas, not every need is glamorous. If you’ve donated books to the Friends of the Library sale via their drop box, you know our little back parking lot. It’s a mess including flooding and drainage issues that affect the library's foundation.

What to do? Well, for starters we'll demolish the asphalt, subbase, walkway, curbing, drainage, and lighting – and start over. Install new pumping and electrical systems for sump pumps in the basement, ensure accessibility, and purchase a generator that will ensure that the sump pumps work properly during outages. Very expensive. Very boring. Very necessary.

We’ve applied for State Aid for Library Construction, but the library will need to match any grant funding.  It’s not glamorous but it’s crucial.

See for yourself! We're hosting a FLXGives Tailgate in the Parking Lot of Broken Dreams on Friday from 12:00 to 2:00. Stop by for some food and some fun. The lot is on the east end of the building, off Pearl Street, by the skating rink.
