For more than 80 years, Elmira Little Theatre has been telling stories that matter.

What began as a grassroots effort by a group of local theatre lovers in 1944 has grown into one of the longest-running community theatres in the region. We are a fully volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing high-quality, accessible theatre to audiences in Elmira and across the Southern Tier.

Each season, we produce a range of shows—from comedies and dramas to musicals—brought to life entirely by members of our community. Our performances aren’t just about entertainment; they’re about building something together, forming lasting connections, and giving people of all ages the chance to step into the creative process.

But we don’t do this alone.

Every set built, every light cue called, every costume sewn, every ticket scanned—is made possible by volunteers and the generosity of supporters like you. We don’t have paid staff or deep pockets. What we have is heart, history, and a firm belief that theatre changes lives.
