Humane Society of Schuyler County

The Humane Society of Schuyler County, established in 1987, is the only full-service, no-kill animal welfare organization serving the needs of Schuyler County communities.

We provide quality care to homeless animals, offer pet adoption services, work to eliminate pet overpopulation, strive to prevent animal cruelty, and promote responsible pet ownership.

This year, we have seen an unprecedented increase in the intake of cats and dogs while experiencing a decrease in adoptions. In addition, our budget is strained due to the rising costs of veterinary care, utilities and food. The animals need your support now more than ever.

We are asking the community’s help to care for the animals in our shelter and prepare them for adoption.

• $15 provides a rabies or distemper vaccination
• $25 provides a case of canned dog food
• $70 provides a cat neuter surgery
• $100 provides a dog neuter surgery
• $120 provides a dog spay surgery

You can donate at one of these levels to help put the cats and dogs we care for on the path to their forever home or choose the amount you would like to donate.

Who We Are

The Humane Society of Schuyler County is a limited admission, no-kill shelter. Incorporated in 1987, We are the only full-service animal welfare organization serving the needs of our community. The Humane Society provides shelter for stray and surrendered animals, offers animals for adoption, provides a low-cost spay/neuter program, delivers educational resources and manages programs to help area residents care for their pets.

We envision a clean, safe, and happy place for the homeless animals of Schuyler County until they find their forever homes. This drives our daily work and our long-term goals.
