Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity, A Local Partner of Yates County Habitat for Humanity

Since its inception, Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity has created homes for five families (a total of eighteen individuals). In spring of this year, we started work on building our sixth home. 

Each family that participates in the Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity Partnership Program must demonstrate a housing need, the ability to pay an affordable mortgage, and willingness to work sweat equity hours to build their home. Sweat equity means that each homeowner must contribute a specified number of hours working on their home or the homes of other partner families. Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity does not give a ‘hand out,’ it gives a ‘hand up.’ 

Volunteers commit thousands of hours of their expertise, time, and administrative skills to supporting Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity. We take pride in our accomplishments.
