WHO WE ARE

The Cantata Singers, founded in 1964, is a community-based choir offering local residents the opportunity to perform, and/or hear, great classical choral works. Since the beginning, we have performed more than 200 free concerts throughout the area. Our season typically consists of three performances, a Holiday-Christmas concert in December, a performance in late February or March, and another in May or June. Concerts are likely to include anything from Bach or the Renaissance masters to the works of contemporary composers. Sacred or secular music, works intended for the concert stage, church, synagogue, or cultural festival are all fair game. We strive to collaborate with local community and educational organizations on issues of importance such as Alzheimer/dementia awareness, environmental concerns and other ways our music speaks to and supports topics important to the community.
