Tanglewood Nature Center FLXGives Campaign

The mission of Tanglewood Nature Center is to lead and support education and preservation efforts in our region, fostering a deep awareness, understanding, and appreciation for our natural world. Tanglewood has come a long way since our beginnings as a small cabin on Elmira Water Board land. Today, we’re a vibrant hub for environmental education, and with your help, we’re expanding into the future with projects like the Canopy Walkway, offering visitors a unique perspective of our local ecosystem.

Welcome to Tanglewood Nature Center's FLXGives campaign! This year, your support can fuel our growth in exciting ways. We’re raising funds for three key areas:

  1. Expand the General Operations Budget: Operating a nature center is expensive and our bills are ever growing. From affording chinchilla snacks to keeping the breakroom fridge running, heck even payroll, the general operations budget covers it all. We know our other goals like new enclosures and toys sound more interesting but we need to keep our animal's (and staff's) basic needs met. Your donations keep the doors open and the electricity on.
  2. Update Enclosures: Some of our animals have started demonstrating a need for more personalized homes. For instance, our Wood Turtle, Woodsy has decided to turn his water bowl into a personal above-ground pool. After a lot of tipped-over water bowls, we have decided it's time to upgrade Woodsy to a semi-aquatic enclosure. Donate to support Woodsy's new hobby and help other animals upgrade their enclosures too.
  3. Enrichment Activities & Toys: Just like household pets wild animals love to play. Enrichment is a necessity we provide to all our animals. They include a variety of products like interactive backgrounds and rodent chew toys. Please help us ensure our animals continued happiness by donating.

Every donation brings us closer to these goals, fostering a vibrant environment for our visitors and wildlife. Learn more about our work at www.tanglewoodnaturecenter.com.
