Junior League of Greater Elmira-Corning

A nonprofit organization

$890 raised by 17 donors

Since 1928, the Junior League of Greater Elmira-Corning has been a driving force for change in Chemung and Steuben counties. Our organization, powered by women volunteers, has donated over $500,000 and countless hours to impactful projects and organizations across the region. Our mission is simple but powerful: we are committed to advancing women's leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

We rely on donations, contributions, and fundraising efforts to continue this important work, supporting initiatives that strengthen and uplift our community. By donating to the Junior League, you’re not only investing in vital community projects but also in the potential of women who are passionate about making a difference. Join us in building a brighter future—every dollar makes an impact!

Recent contributions from The League have included:

  • This past year, we provided over 19,000 diapers and 5,500 menstrual products to families in need, helping to ease the burden on local parents and ensure basic necessities are met.
  • We awarded a $2,500 scholarship to an Outstanding High School Volunteer, recognizing and encouraging young women who give back to their community.
  • In addition, we sponsored several community projects, such as providing holiday gifts for families in need through the Family Service Society and funding paper goods for the weekly community meals at the Neighborhood Transformation Center.
  • Our League has been hands-on in the community, with members participating in meaningful projects like Women Build Day with Habitat for Humanity, where we joined forces to help construct safe, affordable housing for families in need.
  • We’re also proud to have provided grants to empower local initiatives, including to Life: Powered by You! to supply menstrual kits for 135 eighth-grade girls, ensuring they have the essentials they need to succeed with confidence.
  • In a nod to our roots and the legacy we’re building, we presented a "Deed of Gift" to the Chemung County Historical Society. This ensures the professional preservation of our records dating back to 1928, allowing future generations to reflect on our journey and the impact we’ve made in the community.

These contributions are more than just donations—they represent our commitment to creating a brighter, healthier future for everyone in our area. Each donation to the League allows us to continue this vital work. By giving today, you’re supporting initiatives that make a real impact and empowering women who are dedicated to serving our community. Join us in making a difference!
