$7,500 Goal

The Nonnie Hood Parent Resource Center (PRC) is proud to participate in FLX Gives 2025 as we celebrate 37 years of play, learning, and connection. Last year, we welcomed 14,685 visitors through our doors—an incredible milestone that reflects the growing need for safe, nurturing spaces where families with young children can thrive.

Our newly renovated art center has become a vibrant hub of creativity, filled with imaginative play, STEM activities, and the timeless joy of Play-Doh. We offered 25 drop-in hours each week, creating countless opportunities for children and parents to grow together.

We’re especially proud of the 40% growth in our Nurturing Connections program, which provides supervised visitation for non-custodial parents under court supervision. Thanks to emergency funding from The Triangle Fund, we expanded services to support up to 20 families navigating complex custody situations.

As we look ahead, we’re inspired by the legacy of Johanna “Nonnie” Hood, whose compassion and dedication continue to guide our mission. A recent note from a close friend of Nonnie’s reminded us: “Her love for children and parents was the greatest gift given.”

This year, we’ve set an ambitious goal to raise $7,500 during FLX Gives to sustain our programs and meet the growing needs of our community. Your support helps us remain a source of stability, kindness, and hope for families throughout the region.

Join us November 13–14 to honor Nonnie’s legacy and help us continue building joyful memories at the PRC. Together, we can ensure every child feels safe, loved, and connected.

About Us
The Nonnie Hood Parent Resource Center ("PRC") is a community center for families with young children. Founded in 1988 as a partnership of the Corning-Painted Post school district, the PRC became a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization in 2001 and serves nearly 900 unique families annually. Some PRC parents were once PRC kids themselves, and we have the joy of serving multiple generations of families!

Our Programs
Our drop-in center is at the heart of our programming, with 14,685 visitors last year! We offer a variety of programs and events to help kids engage in various ways (arts & crafts, science, music, and so much more!). We also offer free parent education classes, short-term childcare, camp, and supervised visitation during private hours.

Who We Serve
We are happy to serve children of all abilities and their families from the Corning, Painted Post, Horseheads, and surrounding regions. There are no residency requirements to use our free drop-in center.
