This year, the CareFirstNY staff is divided into three fundraising teams—Body, Mind, and Spirit—each representing a different aspect of the comprehensive care we provide.

Support Team Mind: Supporting Emotional & Mental Well-Being 💛 
Team Mind focuses on the emotional and mental well-being of hospice patients and their families. This includes grief counseling, mental health services, caregiver guidance, children’s grief resources, and community education to help people better understand hospice care.

Your gift to Team Mind supports:

• Grief counseling and mental health services for patients and families.

• Caregiver guidance and education, helping families manage emotional challenges during hospice.

• Children’s grief resources, including packs and activities to help young family members cope.

• Social worker guidance to help families navigate conflicts, difficult decisions, and emotional stress.

• Community education and outreach to help more people understand hospice and its benefits.

Why I Support CareFirstNY:
While I haven’t had a personal experience with hospice care, I have seen firsthand the incredible comfort, compassion, and dedication the CareFirstNY team provides to patients and families every day. The way they show up—not just as medical and clinical professionals, but as guides, advocates, and sources of reassurance—is truly inspiring.

Hospice care can feel overwhelming or scary, but CareFirstNY works tirelessly to reduce fear, confusion, and hopelessness. They help patients and families navigate one of life’s most difficult journeys, while also offering support and rebuilding hope after loss. They care for the whole person, helping to refocus first on living fully and then on dying well.
